Gilt: So Sorry

Ok, first of all I need to apologize, if I misled you in any way possible. It was NEVER my intention to do that!  Second. I have spent over a half hour on the phone with this company.  And I am disgusted with how they handled this matter.

First of all, let me clarify, that I was given misinformation by a gilt employee. I was told that you would get a $25 credit to use when you signed up. It also says this on their website:

• Your friends will get $25 when they use your post to join and shop Gilt
• and this—Your friends will get $25 when they place their first order

Many companies put credit in your cart to use during your first purchase. I thought by the language above that you would get the credit.  Just to make sure I understood it correctly, I called the company. They said yes, you would get $25 for signing up.

Well, Apparently that employee and the language written above is wrong.  What it should tell you is that you will get $25 credit after you place your first order and it ships.

They also didn’t seem to care that a customer service agent told me the wrong thing, nor care that their language is misleading.

Again, I am sorry to waste your time (and mine)  with this misinformation.  I try to bring you the most ethical and honest deals that I can find.  I spend extra time making sure I understand them correctly, and mistakes still happen.

FYI-just to make sure this deal wasn’t too good to be true (I mean $25 is pretty high to give out) I called and spoke with Gilt Directly and confirmed this deal.  They said if you have any problem getting your credit then you can call them at 1 877 280 0545.

Apparently, they were wrong.
